Flipped classroom; thought by Ramesh Adhikari

Flipped classroom is one of the pedagogical approaches that aims to flip the traditional way of teaching in the classroom and hence the name. It aims to make classroom more effective by saving time for more useful and productive work instead of repeating same lecture again and again every new year. Flipped classroom encourage teachers to come up with new ideas every new year since old lectures are not needed to be repeated. They are provided in a form of videos, audios or reading materials through blogs. Though the effort to create content for flipped classroom is more time consuming as well as need good knowledge on technology, it can help students to gain knowledge by themselves without requiring teachers' direct presence. Flipped classroom has lot of advantages such as active participation of students and promote discussion in class as students can gain basic knowledge through online platforms before class. But it can be difficult in place where internet facility and technology are still not easily accessible. Flipped classroom can also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skill of students. As per my view a hybrid flipped classroom is better which offer both online material and face to face lecture along with discussion.
